Politics has never been my area of interest. I always consider politics as a filthy pond of selfish individuals because of greed, corruption, and broken promises. Politician are master in playing with peoples emotion and sentiments. Just for their own benefit they can go down to any level. Politicians can quickly resort to someone else to achieve their own ends or to target someone, rather than taking the initiative themselves. This is what going around in India too, where few politician trying to politicise student protest and making it a dirtier and filthy protest.
These days, student and youths have been an easy target to ignite any protest. We have already seen things that had happened over Bangladesh or Sri-lanka or recently in Nepal. The students and youths protest turned violent enough that ends up in toppling the government. Similar situation is cropping up within India. I find it so strange to see how a a protest that started over social media post has taken such sharp turn and gradually shaping into a political movement. Everyday new opposition part visit the protest area to make use of the student protest for their own benefit. Turning a protest into a game of politics.
< Not the first time yet the voice is more stronger
It all started with an examination paper leak. It was not new to Indian as many such leak incident had happened over last decade or so. But Indian never witness something like the ongoing protest. The protestor is demanding the resignation of the education minister. Although, the government has already taken never steps against the person who were directly involved in the case. But finding it as an opportunity, some so called social media influencer which large following base started the protest. Saying it is against the government corruption and immediately asking for minister resignation. Fuelling the protest were the opposition party member, who shown their support to these social media post just to show their anger towards the running government. As I said the examination paper leaks in not new and many such in ident already happened during the tenure of the opposition party. But they never supported or taken any hard decision towards the minister or the culprit. But this time there more of hatredness spreading then mere protest.
Filthy pond of individual
I am not supporting the government neither backing the protestor. But seeing the protest condition, it is sort of the student unrest that our neighbouring countries had seen in last few years. These protest were spread more like a wildfire because of the support of some anti government figure. Seeing more and more politician joining the protest, I am wondering is the protest remain a student protest. It has now turned into to a politics battlefield. The politician fuelling the protest for their own benefit by transforming the wave of anger and anguish of the youth towards anti government agenda. Nobody like to see the government occupying the seat for so long and now unable to fight the government in the election, they found a new way to spread hatredness towards government. Also, most of the student unrest were funded by foreign power. And this is not different in this protest too. As we can see, there were huge cache of food and water supply at the protest location. If we can estimate the daily spend of the protestor, it goes around 12 Lakhs INR. Which seem impossible for any student leader to manage. But still they are managing.
Keep the focus where it belongs
Looking at the scene, i wonder no politician kids shows up to support the student protest. Rather more and more aged politician and anti government supporter coming forward. Again they are seeing it a chance to topple the government. I hope the kids and youths that were present in the protest area smart enough to understand that their agenda is losing and it slowly getting into political ground. And getting out of it is not going to easy. As Politics has always been a filthy pond. Instead of falling for the sweet words of the leaders, the public should also pay attention to their work and accountability. It is largely true that in the game of politics and power, the priority of leaders is often their own interests and those of their party.
