A good food experience may make travelling more memorable. Food change the mood and helps us to enjoy the new place with more enthusiasm. Eating fresh, clean, and properly cooked meals drastically lowers our risk of food poisoning, traveler's diarrhea, and upset stomachs that can ruin our travel plans. I was more focussed on good food during my trip to Southern India. While I was enjoying the local dishes but in the meantime I kept a check on my regular food inrake. In Rameshwaram, I got more of a surprise because of so many resraurants. There were many open resraurants on the street and each one of them promisses to serve better food. I tried one north indian restaurant in breakfast but it does not fulfill my expectation. But enquiring with my hotel manager, I learned about Pandya restaurant.
The restaurant was owned by a tamilian and the operation were looking after by their upung kids , who were hardly around 22-23 years of age. When I first went in to tribal cold coffee in the afternoon, I find the services were delayed. I quickly complained the matter to the incharge. But finding the ambience much better than any other restaurant, I gave a second try for the dinner. The resraurant has a long list of dishes that were served at different times. Fro breakfast they have different menu while for lunch and dinner thay have other. I quickly went through the menu and the prices appears to reasonable. Atleast fair enough considering we are in a tourist place.
The resraurant was nice and clean with lots of open space. There were manybtables and chairs that were kept on the big hallway. While tye kitchen were at the far end. It was a closed door kitchen that appears to be very busy.
While I was wiaunt for the order, i saw the staff were efficient. They know what were expected from them. There was a cleaner who quickly clean the table and take away the left over as soon as the customer done with their meals. He know what was expected from them.
While at the food counter. The staffs were very busy in serving all tye orders. The system is pretty alligned with the customer requirement. You go inside, choose ypu food from the menu, order it to tye staff and wait to be served. Enjoy the meal and make the payment at the counter. Seeing each of the staff so busy, I understood why my cold coffee got delayed in tHe afternoon.
This time i kept the patience to check on their food quality. I ordered two items and each of them were tasted much better. The bowl of fried rice and the plate of Dosa was enough for my craving. The staff member were nice with their hospitality. Although they expect some tips from the customer. And after experiencing the food and their behaviour, I am happily obliged with small tip.
For my one time complete meal, I would rate it pretty decent enough, at-least fair enough than my breakfast experince. Though, you have to wait little longer for the food to be served. But I am happy with my hotem manager recommendation. Later I found out that the owner of both were closed friend. Anyway their is no harm untill you get what you wanted.
