Lessons from JJ

Our friend, Jaclyn , visited us in Puerto Rico last weekend. She is a student at our yoga center, a gifted choral director, and one of the most positive and caring souls I’ve ever met. I am so glad she stayed with us. We are closer friends now than before, and I learned a lot about her and (honestly) about myself from just a few short days being around her

Lessons I learned from JJ’s visit:
-ask and you shall receive...Or at least you are more likely to get it by asking than not! We had an open room, she had a cheap ticket, she asked 1st out of all our friends open heartedly and open-mindedly and it worked out. Bottom line - let people know what you want.

-follow up and follow through make all the difference. She asked, we told her availability, she said “great, how about that 1st date?” Okay - Done. 💥 When u have an opportunity, don’t delay. Jump on it when the energy is high. Don’t over think it! That energetic momentum makes it so much easier and more likely to happen. Bottom line - get it while the gettin’s good.

-JJ is truly a beautiful woman on the outside, but what REALLY draws people to her is her energy. Vitality. Nonjudgmental. Fun loving! We met so many folks over the weekend just peripherally because she exudes and it draws people to her. ✨Bottom line - it’s ALL about energy.

-a good student is one that is taught a nugget from a teacher and then passionately seeks and self educates more. Without judgement of self for not knowing or embarrassment of being a beginner. She seeks out more depth on topics that interest her and doesn’t wait to be spoon fed. Bottom line - don’t fear looking like a beginner.

-She shared a few examples going on lately in her life where what first appeared to be a problem or a setback actually turned into a big blessing. Bottom line - the antidote to poor me is gratitude. 🙏🏽
