With the arrival of winter, we witness a vertical collapse of temperatures. Here are some simple tips to better face the rigors of the cold season.
When we are cold we crave something hot, to help us to ease tensions and alleviate pain. With low temperatures, the muscles become stiff and this can cause less mobility and the risk of being contracted. To enjoy a pleasant feeling of warmth even in the harsh winter months, we offer some stratagems particularly effective against the cold.
Dress with onion
Choose warm clothes and "onion" clothes: more thin layers on top of each other ensure better thermal insulation. Furthermore, this technique allows you to adapt to different temperatures throughout the day. Do not forget the scarf and cap: on the face, the cold is particularly intense. Those who tend to have cold hands should prefer knob gloves, which ensure a more intense heat because the fingers are closed in the same space and do not have to heat up individually as with other models.
Movement
When you are cold you do not stay still, the movement, in fact, activates the circulation and promotes blood circulation. If you are forced to wait for the bus or the train outdoors, move your feet up and down or take a few steps. Even climbing stairs helps fight the cold. If you move or practice cold sports, it is advisable to inhale from the nose and exhale from the mouth, so the air warms up and reaches body temperature.
Hot drinks
A cup of hot tea or coffee warms both the inside of the body and the hands. If you add spicy spices like ginger or chili, the feeling of heat intensifies. Warning: alcohol does not help fight the cold! The heat that is felt immediately after taking an alcoholic drink is rapidly dispersed, in fact, alcohol accelerates hypothermia since several important organs receive a reduced blood supply.
