What is Decentraland?
Decentraland is a virtual reality platform that is powered by the Ethereum blockchain, allowing users to create, interact with and monetize content and applications.
The first fully decentralized world, ownership of assets in Decentraland are controlled by Smart Contracts, which are governed by the DOA (Decentralized Autonomous Organization). Users can take part in the DOA to vote on how the world works- what kinds of wearable items are allowed (or disallowed), moderation of content, LAND policy and auctions etc.
The MANA token must be burned to acquire non-fungible ERC721 LAND tokens in Decentraland.
