I finally got round to publishing my response. I was going to wait until Thursday, but I did so early because I have some other things to write about. I suppose I could have added more (such as pointing out that I live in a town with no zoning laws and never has anyone burned tyres or butchered cattle in their front yard), but I think between me and @jacobtothe, we've covered the bases.
