Midlife crisis, mental health challenges. Farther or two daughters and a rather fluffy dog. Photography (often forgetting the SD card!), motor sport, sim racing and food. Growing passion for history and tracing the family tree.

RE: Learning stuff long forgotten

Saying that, I am getting to grips with things I couldn’t get my head around when younger. I very much agree never to old to learn … unless it’s maths. Maths can do one.

I’d like to think so but not really then inventive or creative type. Possibly an extended midlife crisis 🙂.

I’ve tried to get the girls interested but their attention span isn’t quite there. Eldest uses a BBC Micro Bit at school and enjoys programming that. Santa has been looking out for one but they’re like

RE: A couple of random photographs from recent days

We've had some great moody skies recently due to storms and/or the moon being bright. This was taken on my phone (iPhone 11 Pro).

It can't make its mind up here today. I walked into the supermarket and it was bright and when I came out about 10 mins later it was heavy sleet. The wind can't make its mind up either!

RE: Pet Portraits: Something a little different from the norm.

I have a few scattered about the place but nothing I've taken in the past few years. Starting to think about giving the place a lick of paint thanks to grubby kids finger prints everywhere. Might be time

RE: Bought a New Used Guitar - Ibanez AEG50N Acoustic Electric Classical Guitar

I'm not sure I've every played an Ibanez and certainly have touched a nylon strung guitar since I was a nipper. Probably since my first guitar which was a cheap nylon jobby from a catalogue store. Looks

RE: My new instrument - finally here

Oh how cool! My wife took up the saxophone many moons ago and then started again shortly after we got married. I bought her a budget one too, "proper" ones seem to be eye watering expensive.

I feel I’m one of “those” people a little too often. 100% whilst I go have a jolly good chat to myself. 😊

RE: Autumn is here!

I love the sound of the sea, it's very calming. We can often hear it from the house when the breeze is from the east.

RE: Monday Drumday: New gear day!

The eldest keeps badgering me about drums but even the cheap electronic kits are quite expensive. She might have to do some more chores around the house to boost her pocket money :)

RE: Monday Drumday: New gear day!

That's a pretty cool little thing, I'd never seen or heard of practice pads before. I watched a cool documentary on drumming over the weekend called Count Me In (Netflix). It certainly looks like a good

RE: Wednesday Wellbeing Club | 11 August - 24 November | Week 2: Wednesday 25 August 2021

Morning, This comes to you after the first solid night sleep I've had in a long while! Like yourself it's staying asleep for me. I often wake up somewhere between 2am and 4am and then struggle to get back

It's great to read that it's all going well and you're keeping on track. I've been a little slow at fitting myself into the rule of 5's and haven't yet set myself more than a few goals. Improving sleep
