Great Post!
While many people abuse credit to the extent that they go deeply in debt buying things that they merely want, rather than just the things they need, credit itself is certainly not a bad thing. Sometimes, just because of a person's position in life, or the timing of income flow (such as with many salespeople), they are forced to use credit just to feed themselves and their families. To deny one's family food and shelter because technically you may not be able to afford it at the time, to me, would be a far worse moral travesty than going in debt.
As for living in luxury, such a lifestyle is one which should be earned, rather than simply enjoyed at the expense of others (friends, relatives, banks, etc). No one should be going in debt for things they do not absolutely need, because once you get on that debt train, it is very difficult to ever get off.
