Thank you very much for your explanations on everything. But regardless of those explanations, when a post that your are expecting a US $0.66 upvote reward per curator pays you less than US $0.01 (99% less than expected), there is indeed something terribly wrong with that picture. Call it what you will, but I call it downright fraud.

Indeed! I think that pretty well sums up SteemIt.

So from what I now understand, there are a relatively small number of members who have been on SteemIt from the beginning, and who have accumulated a significant amount of Steem and Steem Power, and as a result now control everything, including their income levels. But as for the rest of us, it is extremely unlikely that any of us will ever earn any significant amount. We are simply wasting our time commenting and upvoting hoping to earn income that will never come.

Perhaps there are posts explaining all of this, such as the 5 minute rule, the first votes being of higher value, actual upvote power, account valuations, and so on. But for the vast majority of us, this is all very deceptive. In short, SteemIt is not what it is promoted to be, a platform where you can earn by both posting and upvoting other posts. On the contrary, I see SteemIt as nothing more than an illegal ponzi scheem, where a relatively few people get rich at the expense of the rest of us. SteemIt should be investigated and shut down.

I for one will be powering down everything immediately, and will
then withdraw all my Steem (too bad I have to wait 13 weeks). I want nothing further to do with SteemIt (a real scam as I see it). As for SteemIt itself, I highly doubt that it will survive for much longer. As I'm sure we all know, Steemit almost went out of business a short time ago because it simply could not a sustain its then business model, and ended up laying off 70% of its staff in an effort to cut expenses. But little has changed from what I see. Thus, I suspect the end is very near for SteemIt! Even long time supporters and advocates of SteemIt, such as @joeparys are now cashing out.
