First, the day started with me reading a message from discord by a friend, just when I woke up from sleep, that my Hive account has been hacked. I was surprised because it is something I least expect because I rarely click on phishing links.
To be sure, the first thing I did was to check my comments if my account was used to send phishing links to other authors and then it occurred to me to go check my wallet. It was funny that the thief had already set my Hive power to power down and sent out about 7.33 HBD.
After seeing this, I went straight to https://hive.blog and to click on Change Account Password which somehow I found my master password already displaying on the tab without me going to copy it from my back up (Somehow, I wondered why it was like that) and was successful in changing my hive password.
While thinking of this experience which I know many too have experienced, I felt so glad that it was not my master password that was leaked but only the active key. I also appreciate the fact that Hive power takes some time before they can be powered down. Imagine if it wasn't so, I would probably be half crazy by now.
