I have been reading a lot about the drug war lately. It is a topic that comes up from time to time. One of the things that really disgusts me is that I keep finding information that implicates Governments of collusion with drugs mafias. I see photos of gangsters with huge gold chains, mansions with very nice decorations, many luxury cars and yet when these people die some elements of the press say that the person was involved in real estate and in the automotive industry. Oh and by the way he had lots of properties, 8 speed boats, a bunch of jetskis, 2 aircraft and any number of vehicles. And he admired Pablo Escobar. But no who would think he's a drug mafia person oh no how dare we make such conclusions. It's also interesting how two different newspapers can each report so different about the same person. 1 newspaper says nothing about crime but mentions his boats and aircraft like he was simply a mechanical enthusiast lol and the other newspaper says clearly that he was protected by what is known in country x as the muslim mafia. And that he helped a high ranking gang member set up a car business in a known crime hot spot, and he also had cops on his payroll to add to his protection.

This story is from a caribbean country in the ideal drug smuggling route whose name shall not be called. And there is no need to as this story repeats itself many times all the way from South America all the way to the USA, Europe and beyond.

I even read a report from about 10 years ago that clearly stated that the Prime Minister of this country appointed multiple known drugs Mafia people to his cabinet and subsequent governments even of a different political party would do the same later on. In the meantime crime has massively increased, in a population of about 1.3 million people the murder rate is between 300 to 500 people killed every single year and most of these murders go unsolved. In the last 10 years police officers have had to kill over 300 suspects. Whether they always had to shoot or whether they put a gun in the hand of a dead suspect?

The drugs Mafia is surely making billions of dollars and they're getting away with it. They feel so comfortable that they even flaunt their wealth in full view of the public.

A Government that is involved in drug smuggling or that facilitates drug smuggling in any way shape or form for organized criminals or that has any connections willingly and knowingly with criminals is a criminal government. They are traitors.

Another interesting fact is that some of the biggest seizures that were made in Canada and the United States originated in this Caribbean country and it's Police has never arrested a drug cartel(It is said this country has atleast 3 cartels and hundreds of gangs), I wonder why(sarcasm).

Such things only prove to me that the drug war is a useless and counterproductive experiment that serves to criminalize the poor and enrich the powerful and corrupt, and all the while reducing our collective security even though that same policy is often sold to the public as being intentioned to save society from bad things.

It is time to take away this business from the criminals on the street and in office and put it into the hands of law abiding citizens. Citizens who will not buy guns to kill people, citizens who will not corrupt the police, citizens who will not endanger the public.

It is time for legalization and regulation.
