Super fast Russian with Ukrainian last name Alexey Lukyanuk said today that he won't compete while war in Ukraine is ongoing. This is terrible what is going on, and no-one can think about sport easily while people are dying somewhere else because of the crazy war and power games.
Lukyanuk already said his thoughts about Russia and Ukraine situation in 2014 after the occupation of Crimea. He put the both flags on his rally car Ford Fiesta R5 and tool a navigator from Ukraine just to show the whole world how crazy is that policy of fear and war.
Now he will go further and decided mot to take any rally until this situation will be finished. That means probably a longer time without a steering wheel. Unfortunately, this could take some time and he is very well aware of that.
We can only hope that this craziness will stop as soon as possible and that we will be able to enjoy the sport all around the world wherever the organizers are.
