While one of the hardest things about being a musician is getting your stuff out there and making your voice heard, there are a lot of things you can do to try to promote your music that can hurt you more than they help you. There's way more of those things than I was able to pack into one video, but I made a few points that some "strategies" that a lot of people use inappropriately or incorrectly. There's always that saying that "no publicity is bad publicity" which CAN be true at times, but if you're just trying to get your foot in the door, you want your first impression to be your best impression. People's first perception of you is what they are going to remember long term, so you want that first impression to be lasting and favorable.
For those of you who don't feel like tuning into the video, the key points are as follows:
-Avoid paying for plays and likes
-Don't spam your potential audience inappropriately
