Rapid fire:

  • Don't complain. Competition exists now, so there's no reason to be "troubled" by this. Competition is the solution to all problems.
  • SteemIt has already changed its economic model before, which proved my point that if they can do it once, they can do it again. Every change means you can't trust the SteemIt team.
  • Remember what happened with maarnio@maarnio? That says everything.
  • From what I gather, EOS will launch soon and this is a similar competitor in the context of development. Block One's website and EOS's website. Unlike Steem, EOS has mainstream support on large exchanges.

  • Advertisers won't use SteemIt and I've already proven why they won't (plus, steempeak@steempeak and busy@busy have nicer UIs and get around SteemIt's advertising). My post explains why SteemIt removed the page view data - highly voted posts seldom have many views. People do not come to SteemIt for content.
  • Outside of all of this, if interest rates were 10%, how many social media companies would exist? Which ones would you pick?
  • Near this post's time, I upvoted some comments that had some value in another post I won't be linking. Great thoughts by those individuals - I recommend reviewing what they were through steempeak@steempeak or busy@busy.
  • I write this as someone who curates the best content - no one produces better content than cheetah@cheetah (adds a ton of value to SteemIt), burnpost@burnpost (adds value to everyone), and maarnio@maarnio (great insight into trading and makes for a great introduction for beginners). What makes these accounts so good is that their not "fluffy" feel good stuff and they're consistent.

Interesting thought by costanza@costanza:

It becomes impossible to build on the Rules
Since the rules can change drastically, everyone that build something upon them likely will see their plan completely go to waste. The upvoteshares@upvoteshares project I'm running should be able to work around it and has a failsafe to refund every shareholder in case the program would come to an end. But many initiatives like SBI will have a hard time because curation changed so drastically. Also, it becomes impossible to build something on the new rules because they can completely change at any given time.

I would add that rules have changed before this on Steem, so it should have been understood that the rules can change at any time. In fact, they can change again!
