I begin here, with the uncomfortable truth that I keep waiting for better conditions before allowing myself to do what I already know truly matters even though I’m already sinking into this quicksand,
I begin here, because some part of me still believes the right moment will arrive fully prepared, asking nothing from me except to finally begin acknowledging that I needed my own faith to conquer my mind alone,
I begin here, knowing how easily perfection disguises itself as patience when I am actually afraid of producing and releasing something imperfect in the world that I know I did my best,
I begin here, am I honestly waiting for the right conditions, or am I protecting myself from finding out what I can actually do, what I can trust become to what I can truly achieve,
I begin here, and the unfinished ground beneath me is still ground enough, and perhaps I have spent too long waiting for completion when all I ever needed was somewhere willing to hold my first step…
I stop waiting, for the imagined version of tomorrow that keeps making today’s small opportunity look insignificant by comparison, by doubt and by insufficient evidences to the unknown,
I stop waiting, because there is always another reason to postpone what matters when I allow the absence of ideal circumstances to become my permission slip to fail, to be imperfect and to just explore,
I stop waiting, accepting that beginning with what exists does not mean surrendering what I hope to build eventually without evolving and committing to it forever,
I stop waiting, what could I actually move today if I stopped measuring this moment against the life I have not reached yet considering it’s uncertainties,
I stop waiting, and the smallest available action suddenly has somewhere to go, because sometimes the path only becomes visible after I finally take the step that was already within reach…
I do what I can, even when the result feels embarrassingly small beside the scale of everything I wish I could change all at once,
I do what I can, resisting the urge to dismiss modest progress simply because nobody else might notice that I made it and eventually surrendering to the goal at hand,
I do what I can, because an imperfect action still changes the ground beneath me while another perfect intention leaves everything exactly where it was,
I do what I can, would I still take this step if no one ever knew I had taken it, and despite that everybody is doubting your immediate action,
I do what I can, and the need to be impressive begins losing its grip, until I realize that I was never meant to spend my life proving that I am remarkable—I was meant to be present to make what is mine to make because I am more than enough…
I let it be enough, not because I have lowered what I care about but because I refuse to make impossible standards the price of full participation to what is present,
I let it be enough, allowing one honest effort to exist without demanding that it immediately prove my abilities, my worth, or the future I imagine for myself,
I let it be enough, remembering that work becomes larger through continuation and not through the pressure placed upon its first fragile movement,
I let it be enough, can I finish this small thing without asking it to prove anything about me no matter how smallest these details can be,
I let it be enough, and the next step becomes visible only because I finally took this one, until I understand that I do not need to know the entire way forward—I only need to stop demanding that the future reveal itself before I wholeheartedly begin…
Watchwords:
The unfinished ground beneath me
The smallest available action
Imperfect action still changes the ground
The need to be impressive
The next step becomes visible
