Kitt was now a rather old cat and his senses were very dull. He would sit on the blanket on top of the couch all day and snooze. Even a couple of mice had learned to crawl under his nose to look for food. When Kitt woke up he would start stretching and turning around on the blanket, the mice would stand there like statues and wait patiently for the cat to go back to sleep. When the danger passed, they returned to their place, grateful that the feline was old and harmless.

Micio era ormai un gatto piuttosto vecchio ed i suoi sensi erano molto attenuati. Se ne stava tutto il giorno sulla coperta in cima al divano a sonnecchiare. Anche una coppia di topolini aveva imparato a strisciagli sotto il naso per andare i cerca di cibo. Quando Micio si risvegliava iniziava a stiracchiarsi e a rigirarsi sulla coperta, i topolini si fermavano come statuine ed aspettavano pazientemente che il gatto tornasse a dormire. Passato il pericolo tornavano al loro nascondiglio grati che il felino fosse vecchio ed innocuo.
