Mick was a keen observer and this quality came in handy at the card table. But gambling and winning was not what gave him a real satisfaction, framing and understanding people was the real challenge, in the game the case had its weight, instead guessing the behavior of others was a mixture of science and intuition, an art granted to a select few. Sometimes the challenge was difficult, it was a matter of meticulously collecting clues, but to arrive at an overall view it took time, sensitivity and a vision without preconceptions.

Mick era un attento osservatore e questa qualità gli tornava utile al tavolo da gioco. Ma giocare d'azzardo e vincere non era quello che gli procurava una reale soddisfazione, inquadrare e capire le persone era la vera sfida, nel gioco il caso aveva il suo peso, invece intuire i comportamenti altrui era un misto tra scienza ed intuizione, un'arte concessa a pochi eletti. Alle volte la sfida era impervia, si trattava di raccogliere meticolosamente indizi, ma per arrivare ad una visione d'insieme ci voleva tempo, sensibilità e una visione priva di preconcetti.
