Hugh rehearsed his speeches over and over again in the mirror, he wanted to be in control of his expressiveness, he was well aware of the importance of non-verbal communication. But a good dose of sympathy and irony were also essential ingredients. Just before taking his place on the podium, he would put on his Groucho Marx glasses, it was a sort of ritual to remind himself not to take himself too seriously and to relieve tension, then he would take off his funny disguise and with a confident attitude he would start his speech.

Ma anche una buona dose di simpatia ed ironia erano ingredienti imprescindibili.
