"The newspaper."
"What is it?"
"It's the grown-up storybook."
"How nice, read me a story!"
"Once upon a time there was the Great Lord of Money, he kept it all in a big building called the Bank. Every day the people of the kingdom would line up to borrow some money. But the Great Lord of Money only lent his money to those who gave him something in return, who brought him chickens, donkeys, fruit, wood, jewels and all kinds of merchandise. A little old lady who owned nothing brought him her granddaughter."
He said to her, "What am I going to do with a little girl."
"She will keep you company and fill your heart with joy."
"But with joy I buy nothing."
"Joy is the most precious thing in the world, when you experience it you will give away all your money to experience just a little of it."
And so it was, the Great Lord of Money gave away all his money and became poor, but happy to feel sincere joy in his heart.

"E' il libro delle favole per grandi."
"Che bello, leggimi una storia!"
"C'era una volta il Gran Signore dei soldi, li teneva tutti in un gran edificio chiamato Banca. Tutti i giorni gli abitanti del regno si mettevano in coda per chiedere qualche soldino in prestito. Ma il Gran Signore dei soldi prestava i suoi soldini solo a chi gli dava qualcosa in cambio, chi gli portava galline, asini, frutta, legna, gioielli e ogni tipo di mercanzia. Una vecchietta che non possedeva niente gli portò la sua nipotina."
Lui le disse: "Che me ne faccio di una bambina."
"Ti farà compagnia e ti riempirà il cuore di gioia."
"Ma con la gioia non ci compro niente."
"La gioia è la cosa più preziosa al mondo, quando la proverai darai via tutto il tuo denaro per provarne solo un poco."
E così fu, il Gran Signore dei soldi regalò tutti i soldi e divenne povero, ma felice di provare sincera gioia nel cuore.
