I’m slowly learning more about Hive and this Power Up Day was perfectly timed for me.
I was worried that I wouldn’t have the minimum power of 100 but a great supported post from the @ecoTrain helped me pass the 100Hthreshold late last night.
I’ve learnt about communities and how to post there, but mostly I like how you can find great content without needing to search. There are still some I don’t quite understand because they don’t seem to have a theme or guidance like GEMS.
I’ve collected a couple of badges already, @DIYHub, @NaturalMedicine and a new @ecoTrain contribution! I’m excited to get a Power Up Bee 🐝
I’ve learnt that I can direct my pay out ratio from the default of 50/50 HP & HBD to 100% HP. Which is great for a fledgling account.
I like the idea of keeping 1 Hive and 1 HBD for some reason so I’ve powered up 20.750 Hive and set some more HBD conversions happening.
I run a couple of online businesses and in talking to other business owners about Hive I love saying how much instant feedback Hivers give. No more crickets on content that you’ve worked hard on. No more wondering if anyone is actually seeing what you are doing.
I think there’s still a huge learning curve with Hive for me as it has only been just over two months since I started.
Things that still confuse me:
Hive, Hive Power, Hive Backed Dollars - why so many? Could a consensus not be reached on which was best 😛? I understand they have different uses and one is more liquid (I think) but why have so many?
Voting - why do some of the values on some posts decrease when I upvote on them?
Tokens - are they a second form of currency?
Discord - I haven’t ventured into anything discord but I see it being discussed. Does discord work in conjunction with Hive? More chatting less content creation?
Twitter - although I think I’ve always been confused by Twitter. Is it just for promotion of Hive to a wider group?
