For most of my life this time of the year has plagued me with depression, thoughts of suicide and so many tears I dared not count. This year is different. I still feel the waves of sadness they are muted by the fact that 6 months ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and just last month after having a portion of my intestines taken out the doctor tells me he didn't see nothing at all that looked like cancer at all but rather just a severe case of diverticulitis. Funny how life throws us curve balls now and again. I don't celebrate Christmas but I do celebrate the healing power of faith in a loving God. And this year I laugh at seasonal affect disorder and bid it farewell for good. Hang on people. The ride is gonna get a little bumpy soon enough.
