Hello everyone! For this week's Art Contest, I would like to present a New Card Idea - CRYSTAL BEETLE, a monster unit from Life element.
Short Lore
Crystal Beetle emerged together with Crystal Werewolf in Shimmer City. While the Crystal Werewolf was fighting the Silver Shield, Crystal Beetle were instead feasting in the remains of Crystal Werewolf's victim.

At Level 1, Crystal Beetle has 1 Melee Attack, 1 Speed, 1 Armor and 1 Health. Her available skill is Thorns and it costs 2 mana to summon this monster unit.
Card Reference
Crystal Beetle is inspired by the Rhino Beetle which is a majestic and sturdy beetle. Also, the reason I created this card is because at Bronze League, Grandmaster Rathes' Amplify ability is quite useless if there are no monster unit with Magic Reflect, Return Fire, or Thorns. And I felt bad for it. So, I created this card which costs only 2-mana and the main purpose is to inflict Amplified damage from Thorns.
Drawing Process
I first created a rough sketch of the image on a paper. I added crystal like objects on its body and would like to still resemble the Rhino Beetle. I upload the image to my Sketchbook and then created a clean Outline after I got satisfied with my sketch.
After creating the outline, I change the color of the background to gray and then I applied a light grayish color on its body. I then added black shades all throughout the legs.
I then used orange as my base color for the crystal and then I added yellow glowing colors to somehow resemble a crystal. I also did the same for its horn.
And then I added white line to its face and applied brown color to its abdomen. But on the right image, I decided to change the color of the abdomen to a light color. Lastly, I added some white brush strokes in the background.
And here is the final output.
For the card creation process, I used a very helpful tool - https://splinterlandscardmaker.com/. I just uploaded the image of my card and edited other information available.
That's all and Thank You for reading my post. If you got interested in playing Splinterlands, here is my Game link - splintercell-01.
