Hello everyone! This week's Splinterlands Battle Challenge features DRAGONS! If you are also interested in participating, check their post here - SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! DRAGONS!
Among the 6 Splinters in the world of Splinterlands, the Dragon Splinters are the most unique. When you play using Dragon Summoners, you can also summon monsters from other Splinters aside from Dragon monsters. Dragon summoners work well with other elements ranging from magic, ranged or melee attack monsters.
Line Up
The goal of this line up is for Black Dragon to accumulate huge HP and then Byzantine Kitty will heal it until the enemy is defeated either by Black Dragon or due to fatigue.
The Ruleset is Reverse Speed wherein Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks and the Mana Cap is 14. Also, in this battle, you can only use Light and Dragon elements.
You can do very little in this battle because of the mana cap. In my deck, I have Daria Dragonscale, Selenia Sky and Byzantine Kitty for the Dragon element. And I have Lorna Shine, Kiara Lightbringer and General Sloan for the light element.
My initial thought is to use Daria Dragonscale+Djinn Chwala basically because of Djinn Chwala's Thorn ability and armor. But what if the enemy used a Magic attack monster.
Abilities: All friendly Monsters have +2 Speed. All friendly Monsters receive the True Strike ability at the start of the battle. This summoner will heal the Monster in the first position on their team each round. This cute legendary summoner costs 7 mana but surely is a good choice. It will give your line up a huge chance to evade physical attacks from the enemy and at the same time, allied monsters will not miss. Its heal ability is also an advantage if your allied monster has a good base HP. The main reason I used this card is to heal my Black Dragon once it accumulates enough base HP and will let the fatigue help me win the battle. |

Abilities at Level 1: None Since the mana cap in this battle is only 14, I need to use low mana cost monster in order to prevent my Black Dragon to be targeted in the early game. And that is the main purpose of Soul Fiend because of its zero mana cost. It also has 1 Melee Attack and will have a chance to dodge physical attacks from the enemy because it already has 2 speed to be added to Byzantine Kitty's +2 Speed buff. |
|---|
Abilities at Level 1: None The most favorite and used card before the Fiend cards emerge. Same with Soul Fiend, this is a zero mana cost card and the main purpose of this card is to prevent my Black Dragon to be targeted in the early game. |
|---|
Abilities at Level 1: None I already used all zero mana cards and I still have 1 mana to use. And with that I used Gargoya Scrapper because it only has 1 mana cost. This will also help my Black Dragon to prevent direct attacks from the enemy. |
|---|
Abilities at Level 1:Flying: Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability. Life Leech: Monster's health increases each time it damages an enemy Monster's health in proportion to the damage dealt. With all those monsters that I put in front of Black Dragon so that it can accumulate enough base HP before going to position 1, the next thing to do is just wait for the enemy line up to reveal. In this battle, I hoped that the enemy will not use a monster with Sneak because it will easily kill my Black Dragon. |

Let's Battle!
And so I tried using Byzantine Kitty and Black Dragon. To sum it up, I need to play more cards in front of Black Dragon so that it can accumulate enough health before reaching the 1st position. So I put Soul Fiend in 1st position because of its 0-mana cost and additionally it has 1 Melee Attack. I also used Furious Chicken and Gargoya Scrapper in the 2nd and 3rd position to add more shield to my Black Dragon. So Byzantine Kitty costs 7 mana, Black Dragon costs 6 mana, Soul Fiend and Furious Chicken cost 0 mana and Gargoya Scrapper costs 1 mana. And that max out the 14 Mana Cap.
What I did not account for in this battle is what if the enemy used a Monster with Sneak Ability. Surely, Black Dragon will die first and I will lose the battle. Luckily, the enemy did not play a card with Sneak ability.
The enemy used Lorna Shine together with Hydra, Soul Fiend, Divine Healer, Furious Chicken and Creeping Ooze. Since I also do not have a monster with Sneak ability, I need to deal with Hydra+Divine Healer healing power.
My Soul Fiend and Furious Chicken easily died thanks to Hydra's and Divine Healer's attack.
By the end of Round 4, my Gargoya Scrapper was killed and Black Dragon moved to the 1st Position in Round 5. In this round, Black Dragon has now 6 HP. I thought I will lose this battle because of the healing combo of Hydra and Divine Healer.
I guess thanks to the enemy's Creeping Ooze that my Black Dragon's speed reduced to 3 and makes some of Hydra's attack missed.
And in Round 21, the Fatigue effect started to kick in and killed the enemy's Soul Fiend, Furious Chicken and Creeping Ooze. By this time, Black Dragon's HP is now 21.
And in Round 24, Hydra's health reached 0 due to Fatigue, making me the victor in this battle. ??
Black Dragon's HP reached 25 in the end of Round 24 and this is the first time that I have experienced this. What's cool for me is that Black Dragon initial's HP is only 3 and together with Byzantine Kitty, they defeated the Hydra+Divine Healer combo.
