Byzantine Kitty
For this challenge, I will use Byzantine Kitty - a summoner from Dragon element. Dragon Summoners are very unique in the land of Splinterlands. Aside from summoning monsters from Dragon element, they can also summon monsters from other chosen elements.
Let's take a run down first of this card's lore and stats.
Byzantine Kitty
Edition: Untamed
Rarity: Legendary
Element: Dragon
Card Type: Summoner
Abilities: All Friendly Monsters have +2 Speed, All Friendly Monsters receive the True Strike ability at the start of the battle, This Summoner will heal the Monster in the first position on their team each round.
Lore
Be not distracted by cuteness and fluff,
Byzantine Kitty is cuddly but tough,
If you dare to think kitty is merely a pet,
You haven’t faced kitty in battle just yet.

Line Up
In this battle, the mana cap is 29 and the Ruleset is Noxious Fumes wherein all Monsters start the battle Poisoned. This is the reason why I used Byzantine Kitty because of its healing ability.
Ability: All Friendly Monsters have +2 Speed, All Friendly Monsters receive the True Strike ability at the start of the battle, This Summoner will heal the Monster in the first position on their team each round. Byzantine Kitty's healing ability will be an advantage in this battle. If my tank receives damage from Poison, Byzantine Kitty will heal it, offsetting the damage taken. It's +2 Speed buff will also increase the chance that the enemy will miss and this line up will have a high probability of attacking first. |
|---|
Ability: Torn - When hit with a Melee attack, does damage back to the attacker. My favorite tank from Dragon element in bronze and silver league is Djinn Chwala. It has a good amount of melee attack, armor and health. Adding Thorn damage to Poison damage will help this line up win the battle. Also, since its HP is 10, Byzantine Kitty will heal a good amount of its health back. |
|---|
Ability: Flying -Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability Dragon Spirit is also a Dragon monster with 5 Speed and Flying ability. If we add up Byzantine Kitty's +2 Speed, enemy will have a hard time hitting this monster. And since this monster has no attack, it will attract enemy monsters with Snipe ability. |
|---|
Ability: Immunity - This monster is immune to negative status effects Almo Cambio is a monster from Neutral element. The Poison from the ruleset will have no effect on this card because of its Immunity ability. It has also 12 HP which means it can last longer in the battle. One of the goals of this line up is for Almo Cambio to be at Pos 1 so that Byzantine Kitty can heal it, if it receives damage from the enemy monsters. |
|---|
Ability: None. The main purpose of Fungus Fiend is to attract enemy monsters with Opportunity ability. It has 0 mana cost only and can be added in your line up if you have already used all your mana. |
|---|
Ability: None. Same with Fungus Fiend, the main purpose of Furious Chicken is to attract enemy monsters with Opportunity ability. It has 0 mana cost only and can be added in your line up if you have already used all your mana. |
|---|
Ability: Affliction - When a Monster with Affliction hits a target, it has a chance of applying Affliction on the target causing it to be unable to be healed. Camouflage - This Monster cannot be targeted for attacks unless it's in the first position I used this card just in case the enemy has healers also. Its Affliction will prevent any healing on the affected monster so that Poison will continue to inflict damage to the enemy. |

Let's Battle!
Let's discuss the battle to see areas that I should improve or what worked well.
Round 1
The enemy used the summoner Thaddius Brood to debuff all my monsters Health and Magic Attack. It seems like the enemy is thinking of trimming down my monster's HP so that Posion will kill them quickly.
Round 2
The poison killed the enemy's Undead Badger and trimmed down the HP of all monsters except Almo Cambio because of its Immunity ability.
Round 3
The Poison continues to damage all monsters except Almo Cambio and after that, Byzantine Kitty healed Djinn Chwala. This is the goal of this line up. Even though Djinn Chwala is taking damage, Byzantine Kitty will heal it eventually.
Round 4
In Round 4, the Poison killed Lira The Dark and Silent Sha-Vi from the enemy's line up. Even though Rifting increases it's HP because of Scavenger ability, it took direct hit from Djinn Chwala's attack.
Round 5
And finally, after Rifting was killed from Poison, Djinn Chwala and Alma Cambio stood strong, making me the victor of this battle.
Byzantine Kitty Review
Byzantine Kitty's mana cost is 7 so it will be a disadvantage to use this Summoner in battles with low mana cap. It is also not advisable to use this when the ruleset has Reverse Speed. However, I normally used this Summoner for rulesets like Noxious Fumes, Earthquake and high mana cap battles, especially 99-mana cap battles.
