I had a programme to attend in my friend's campus so I decided to come a day before so that it will be easier for me on the day of the programme as it's a little bit far from my campus. My friend stays in the dormitory of the University.
I arrived and was welcomed well by the other occupants.
Soon it was night and this was when things started to go downhill, hehehe

I was pressing my phone when I noticed a fast movement, lo and behold it was a mother rat
I called it a mother rat because you needed to see how big this rat was... Quite bigger than the occupants of the room which made me wonder if they are eating leftover of the one the rats left for them from their foodstuffs.
I said to my friend:
Me: Chidi, I think I saw rat...
Chidi and the whole occupants started laughing at me saying the rats are legal occupants of the room.
That the night is for them and the day is for them human occupants.
The response was funny but I couldn't see myself laughing because of the PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) I have with rats back in my secondary school days where we had to dress like Army officials before we sleep just to avoid the rats from biting us.
The funny things is that those rats end up removing our numerous stockings and still bit us... Some of us who are deep sleepers anyway.
It was as if the room was the connection the rats had between their rat camp and the hostel, so all the rats literally assessed the hostel through their room.
Not long after, another giant rat jumped down....
This time around, it fell on a nylon and the noise was much...the noise seems to be coming my direction and I didn't know when I jumped up from the bed and started running, funny enough, I turned back and the rat was behind me probably looking for its own way but my brain interpreted it immediately that the rat was chasing me and I kept running.
Chidi and the whole occupants could not hold themselves and bursted into laughter... I came back and joined them in laughing.
I couldn't wait for the day to break to pack my bags and leave but who knew I wasn't going to even sleep till morning, lol.
Around 3am, I heard a shout and I jumped up immediately asking what was the problem only to discover that rat ran across one of the roommate's body but others weren't even perturbed to wake up.
The boy told me it's a normal thing in their room.
At this point, I couldn't even sleep again and was patiently waiting for the day to break to run away
I got home after the programme and the first thing I did was to take my bath and start sleeping again because I can't call what I did in that dormitory sleeping, lol.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day
