Attacking the easy to expose conspiracy theories is an effective strategy. They use this as a way of silencing those presenting evidence about real conspiracies by placing them in the same category as the obviously false conspiracies without even needing to address the claims made.

I see the same with fact checking. The fact checkers include all the obvious false claims while skimming over anything they are unable to debunk.
