I think we are seeing an almost universal model of Government, media, and big business working together to achieve their goals. Big business and media manipulate the people to help Government maintain power. Government keeps big business rich and makes then richer through policy. Big business pumps money into media to support the politics that will make them rich.

Representative democracy is an illusion. People do not have a real choice. They are only given options that support the rich and powerful.
