This is a stunning read, probably the best posts I have read in a long time. The truth is that so many African countries for example parade themselves as a multi-party system. But at the end of the day we have the same people with the same capacities and the same style of governance ruling the country in just a two party system setting with the remaining parties either dead or non-functional. So in my own opinion I do believe that representative democracy is flawed because people are actually not represented. These people gain attention by using the mainstream media and by using political godfatherism to influence a large percentage of people. I'm not actually saying that this is how it works outside the African societies. But then this is how it mostly works in African societies. In the future I do believe that the government will ban social media completely because they are not technologically inclined to regulate it. How if I mention media will be promoted simply because the government uses it to influence the opinion of people especially towards their governance.
As for blockchain in democracy or governance, it would actually change a whole lot and one of the first thing it would bring is transparency.

But then, the government would want to have the big companies on their side. In Africa when you malign with the wealthy people, you can control the small people.
