‎All parents want the best for their child. They also want to see their children succeed. In the process of trying to shape their children's futures, parents make decisions that can interfere with their children's ability to choose the careers they truly love.
‎

‎A child can have a passion for teaching. That is, a child can dream of becoming a teacher because they find joy in helping others learn, among many other things that teachers do. But you will see children insisting that they must become something else, such as a doctor or an engineer, because those careers are respected. The child may follow their parents' wishes, but deep down, they are pursuing someone else's dream instead of their own.
‎
‎This is one of the challenges many students face. Some students study subjects they have no interest in just because they don't want to offend their parents by making their own choice. This can cause a child to struggle in their education, not because they are not intelligent, but because they are studying something that does not match their passion.
‎
‎Children are supposed to discover their abilities and follow their heart's passion. But when parents choose every step of their children's careers, they may hinder the children's abilities and stop them from achieving what they are truly capable of.
‎
‎It doesn't mean that parents should stop advising their children. Advice from parents is one of the most important things a child needs because it is very valuable. It is good for parents to listen to their children's interests so they don't force them down a particular path in which they have no interest.
‎
‎There is joy in doing what you are passionate about. In the process, you find happiness because it is what you truly like.
