Hello everyone, it's time for a discussion and I wish to share my opinion about homeschooling and traditional school. Which one is better? It's not the first time I have thought about it. I always had it in my mind that what kind of education is best for children. Since, I have children's of my own and I was a student long ago, now it feels easier to discuss on this topic. Homeschooling and traditional schools both are good and I don't think any of it is a bad choice. Also, it can't have one right answer for every family. I believe both choices are be good if they are taken seriously. I think both should be available to the parents.
Firstly, traditional schools have many opportunities for the children. One of them are they will get a chance to learn with other children, make friends, work in groups and learn how to socialize. Secondly, parents choose homeschooling instead of traditional school is because not every child can cope with other students in the classroom. They may feel anxious, get distracted and lose focus. Sometimes, teachers at school can't focus on every child which can make some children feel left out. These kids can find comfort by learning at home, it may help them to keep attention and peace of mind.
What are the disadvantages of traditional school? I will say children are only taught the subjects that are allowed by the school. Parents have no control over the lessons and the way subjects are taught. In the opposite, homeschooling is different and gives advantage to the parents or to the children to decide what they should be learning. In this way children can spend more time on subjects that interest them or they believe which one is important. Homeschooling may be difficult for some parents because they also need to make sure their children are receiving good education. We should be careful about our children if they are being able to interact with other children or not. Academic knowledge isn't the only thing they need to learn, they also need to learn how to make friends, communicate, and how to live with people who have different opinions.
My opinion is that, I prefer traditional schooling for my children. Because I have seen how my daughters love to go to their classes and I like seeing them excited about learning. I always try to make sure that my children are actually learning, rather than simply attending school every day. It's a responsibility of every parent to not just drop them at the school gate and end it. They should also, look after their children afterwards if they are actually enjoying the process and learning.
We should acknowledge that every family has different circumstances and every children are different. So, we should not judge someone if they choose homeschooling over traditional school. Because some children may do better in school, while others may do better at home. A school can not define the intelligences of a child. I think knowledge is a power that everyone can achieve from anywhere. Knowledge is not limited to a school. Most importantly, we should have both options available and allow parents to decide based on their child's needs. I will always try to give the best for my children and value their opinions. In this way, we can help a child learn with confident and they would not hate studying. Because they would be loving the process of learning. In the end, we should always prioritize our children's needs.
