Newport, Oregon is home to some hilarious and lively sea lions at least six months of the year. These sea lions are all male, after their mating season they migrate up the west coast from California and settle in Newport. These guys like to lay around on these floating platforms, although, as this shot shows, they aren't always very inviting. Here, the sea lion coming out of the water is being barked at by the sea lion on the platform. It's a lot of fun to watch the sea lions go from barking at each other to cheerfully cuddling with each other minutes later. If you're in Newport I recommend you check them out. They easy to find since they are so loud!
