This is a promising app, but there need to be changes. I'm hopeful that overtime it will continue to grow in popularity and functionality.
The good:
I like that it has so many restaurants in a database. I also love that it can find the restaurants near me. They did a great job with this. The database is also well designed. I with the search worked better, but this is true with many of the Steem-based apps.
I like that it allows me to directly upload photos from my phone. This part of the app also works extremely well. It also gives you a frame so you can select the part of the photo that is in the square photo used in the database.
The less-than-good:
The selections: Type of Food, Occasion, Time of Day, and Price Range are ambiguous and give limited options.
The question "Food Type" allows either "local" or "international." Isn't anything you're eating locally, by definition local? Where I live I can eat Chinese food, but it is very different from real Chinese food since it is a local interpretation of the food style from China. I'd very much like to see better options here.
For the questions "Occasion" and "Time of Day" it isn't clear if they are referring to the restaurant's intention or your visit. For examples, there are breakfast restaurants that are open 24 hours a day so you can have breakfast items as your dinner. What's the correct response?
Finally, the "Price Range" question only allows for "High" "Medium" or "Low." In most restaurant reviews they allow 1-5 and also allow 1/2 values so you can have 2.5 out of 5 for the price. I think increasing the flexibility is important. For example, I consider a 10 USD burger overpriced from a fast-food restaurant, but its not "High" which I would reserve for a formal restaurant.
Overall:
This app has potential, but there are parts that need refining. With a little work it could become an outstanding and useful app.
