Friday before Halloween. Lots of paediatric appointments. Kids not really in costumes. But the staff in some of these medical institutions... My first pair of the de day was a couple of Woodies from Toy Story. First, the medical assistant was wearing a full costume head to toe, cowboy boots included.

We went through the usual questions. Any smokers in the house? How many meals a day? And time in front of screens? Good night's sleep? She finishes and politely asks me if I can wait for the doctor. Absolutely. I will hold and wait for instructions. Have a great day. She leaves, and in my view, there's the door.

A few moments go by, and the doctor knocks on the door. I sit myself back up in the chair, adjust my posture, and turn off the privacy mode on the camera. In the flash of seconds in which this all takes place, the doctor is opening the door. When she finally enters, I am already on screen and trying my best to look professional and serious.

Except the doctor is also dressed in a Woody costume, and this time she's wearing the hat. Everyone laughs as the mother and daughter greet the doctor.
The interpreter, of course, almost bursts into laughter. Thanks to the wizardry of the universe, there is a thing called a mute button that silences the microphone and disguises any giggle that may have occurred. The interpreter must remain as neutral as possible, after all.

During the day, colleagues reported a full surgery team dressed as matching Oompa Loompas, a Wednesday nurse from the Addams Family without Thing by her side, and at least a variety of skeletons. But I have a bit of a hunch that there were many more.

Everything for the kids, and anything for the kids! Rock on.
