How is the community treating you and how is life treating you? For me, super, I'm in cycling mode with my sister
Ayer, como ahora es de costumbre, salimos a las 5:00 p.m. a dar recorridos en nuestro municipio, Antolín del Campo, Estado de Nueva Esparta. Como estamos iniciando en este mundo, vamos de pasos pequeños a grandes y visitamos Playa el Cardón, mayormente conocida como una playa con mar abierto. A pesar de ello, muchos turistas se acercan a esta playa por la presencia de un oleaje perfecto para el surf, ya que sus olas son manejables en comparación con las de Playa Parguito, del mismo municipio.
Yesterday, as is now customary, we went out at 5:00 p.m. for a tour in our municipality, Antolin del Campo, Nueva Esparta State. As we are just starting in this world, we go from small to big steps and visited Playa el Cardón, mostly known as a beach with open sea. In spite of this, many tourists come to this beach due to the presence of a perfect swell for surfing, as its waves are manageable compared to those of Playa Parguito, in the same municipality.
Lo que más me fascinó fue la presencia de esas bellas piedras cristalinas. Algo muy relevante en esta zona de la isla es que, en otras playas del municipio, no hay piedras de este tipo; es más probable encontrar conchas marinas que estas bellas piedras. Le da una vista muy linda a la playa y pareciera que la hubiesen arrojado allí.
What fascinated me most was the presence of these beautiful crystalline stones. Something very relevant in this part of the island is that, in other beaches of the municipality, there are no stones of this kind; you are more likely to find seashells than these beautiful stones. It gives a very nice view of the beach and it looks as if it had been thrown there.
Al llegar a casa, busqué información sobre a qué se debía ello y quede más confundida que usual. Lo cierto es que esa playa no debería tener ese tipo de piedras porque su composición no lo permite. Sin embargo, la naturaleza es única y tiene piedras que llegan a esa forma con el paso de los años y años, siendo arrastradas por agua salada y arena.
Como es de esperarse, me traje unas piedras a mi casa. Llegué cansada por correr bicicleta y llevar ese peso. A la hora, sentí remordimiento de conciencia cuando pude leer todo lo especial que es Playa el Cardón, el tiempo que pasa para la composición de una sola piedra y yo quitándole un poco de su brillo.
When I got home, I looked for information on why this was the case and I was more confused than usual. The truth is that this beach should not have this type of stones because its composition does not allow it. However, nature is unique and has stones that get that way over the years, being dragged by salt water and sand.
As expected, I brought some stones home with me. I arrived tired from cycling and carrying that weight. Within the hour, I felt a pang of conscience when I read how special Playa el Cardón is, how much time goes into the composition of a single stone and me taking a bit of the shine off it.
Nos quedamos más de media hora admirando el paisaje: como se veían los frailes a lo lejos, la montaña de Parguito que literalmente es una piedra enorme y cómo se ocultaba el sol. Sin embargo, era necesario salir de nuestra realidad; nos esperaba un camino largo a casa y ya era hora de regresar. Dejé atrás una playa con ciertos encantos que no había notado antes; luego regresaré a una hora más adecuada y con un entrenador de surf. Me quedé encantada con ella.
We stayed for more than half an hour admiring the landscape: how the friars could be seen in the distance, the mountain of Parguito, which is literally a huge rock, and how the sun was setting. However, it was necessary to get out of our reality; we had a long way home and it was time to go back. I left behind a beach with certain charms I hadn't noticed before; I'll come back later at a more suitable time and with a surf coach. I was enchanted by it.
