Hello friends and Alien Art community, I return after a while to share a new drawing with you. I hope you're having a very nice day. As every year in October, the most important event for those of us who dedicate a few minutes to drawing is Inktober; every year we chase the 31 prompts of the month to do them all. This year I decided to take things more calmly since I have a few projects I'm working on at the same time and time isn't exactly something I have to spare. Therefore, instead of doing the 31 prompts in order, I'll be creating drawings or other things calmly inspired by the prompts, but without following rules or dates, just drawing from inspiration.

That's how today's drawing came to me, inspired by the prompt for day 1: Apple, and by the main character of my Holozing comic (good moment to mention it, stop by my comic and leave a comment). As I was finishing a panel of the comic where the protagonist is the Forest Healer, I thought he would look very good in another drawing style and eating an apple, so I simply opened a new file in Ibis Paint and traced some lines of what would be my character. I changed a lot of the style; he's no longer the energetic guy full of sharp angles and rebellious hair, now he's softer, his gaze calmer, and he holds an apple in his hand. In a style that's perhaps more childish but at the same time manages to convey that side of the character that the other style doesn't resolve.

I share with you a small GIF animation of the entire drawing process, from the sketch of the main idea, in a small spot on the page, to the final lines and details. I hope you enjoy it.

In this panel I show my comic character and how he inspired this drawing; the difference in the hair is more noticeable and how that detail affects the character's personality. For the second sketch I added the hand holding the apple.

And a panel for the final coloring, which I simply did in black and white to keep that Inktober feel. The truth is this was a quite quick drawing, but I liked how it turned out; it's that proof that many times the result we expect lies in simplicity and few elements. Without further ado, I encourage you to follow my comic and get to know the stories and adventures of my characters. A big greeting, and I say goodbye as always, wishing you all the luck and success in the world. We'll read each other in the next blog. Bye bye.

Chau chau.
