I must confess that I love watching series and movies, but I've always been intimidated to write reviews or recommendations; a few days ago I published one about a series and today I bring you another one, because to learn and overcome fear you have to get going.
A few days ago I saw a movie with an actress I really like, Kayle Cuoco. Known as Penny from the series The Big Bag Theory and recently for her role as Cassandra in the series The Flight Attendant.
This time Kayle is accompanied by comedian Pete Davidson, as the protagonists of the movie ¨Meet cute¨ or in Spanish ¨Una cita casi perfecta¨.
Synopsis
This romantic comedy revolves around the possibility of traveling 24 hours in time.
Sheila (Kayle Cuoco) arrives every night at the bar, the bartender jokes that she is delighted with a man on the other side of the bar, she decides to approach Gary (Pete Davidson), asking him if he accepts that she buys him a drink. Just like that, the affinity begins and the date outside the bar that always ends for the same reason: she tells him she's "a time traveler."
He at first thinks it's a funny story and plays along until she insists on the subject and he decides to leave a bit puzzled. This is repeated over and over again as she can time travel 24 hours.

Opinion:
Truth be told when I stumbled across this movie on Amazon Prime, I had low expectations, but thought it would be funnier because of the main characters who are great comedians today.
The movie is somewhat dark in its fantasy, the characters let their childhood traumas show and how the idea of a suicide of the main character unfolds the story in search of her ideal date or a reason to live.
I find the actors have great chemistry, however the time travel premise is a bit tired. The truth is that the idea that travel should help Sheila to modify traumas to get a better "man" seemed a bit interesting to me.
The filming in New York lets you see great locations, wonderful scenery worthy of this great city.
I can't say that I loved this comedy, but without a doubt that reading of how what we live in childhood affects our mental health as adults, I found it interesting.
A very simple ending, lacking character or a better denouement ended up disappointing me.
One of the most repeated phrases in the film is "don't worry, tomorrow you won't remember this", and it seems that I won't remember much of this film either.

Sinopsis
Está comedia romántica gira entorno a la posibilidad de viajar 24 horas en el tiempo.
Sheila (Kayle Cuoco) llega cada noche al bar, el barman le bromea con que está deleitada con un hombre del otro lado de la barra, decide acercarse a Gary (Pete Davidson), preguntándole si acepta que ella le invite un trago. Así de fácil empieza la afinidad y la cita fuera del bar que siempre termina por la misma razón: ella le dice a él que es “una viajera del tiempo”.
Él al principio cree que es una historia divertida y le sigue el juego hasta que ella insiste en el tema y él decide irse un poco desconcertado. Esto se repite una y otra vez ya que ella puede viajar en el tiempo 24 horas.

Opinión:
La verdad cuando me topé con esta película en Amazon Prime, tenía pocas expectativas, pero pensé que sería más divertida por los protagonistas que son grandes comediantes de la actualidad.
La película es algo oscura en su fantasía, los personajes dejan ver sus traumas infantiles y como la idea de un suicidio de la protagonista despliega la historia en búsqueda de su cita ideal o una razón para vivir.
Me parece los actores tienen una gran química, sin embargo la premisa de viaje en el tiempo está un poco agotada. Lo cierto es que la idea de que los viajes deban ayudar a Sheila a modificar traumas para obtener un mejor ¨hombre¨ me pareció un poco interesante.
El rodaje en New York deja ver grandes locaciones, maravillosos escenarios dignos de esta grandiosa ciudad.
No puedo decir que amé esta comedia, pero sin duda esa lectura de como lo que vivimos en la infancia afecta nuestra salud mental de adultos, me pareció interesante.
Un final muy simple, falto de carácter o un mejor desenlace me terminó de decepcionar.
Una de las frases más repetidas en la película es ¨no te preocupes mañana no te acordaras de esto¨, y tal parece que yo tampoco recordaré mucho esta cinta.
