Catalina la cuya!
My younger sister has been living with me in Bogotá for a few months now.
She has always been a dog and cat lover, since she was a child she has been used to having pets.
In my house there was no pet, my husband and I have never wanted to because of the responsibility that comes with having a pet to take care of.

Mi hermana menor hace unos meses que vive conmigo en Bogotá.
Ella siempre ha sido una amante de los perros y los gatos, desde niña ha estado acostumbrada a tener mascotas.
En mi casa no había mascota, mi esposo y yo nunca hemos querido por la responsabilidad que conlleva tener un animalito que cuidar.
My sister told me she wanted to have a pet to take care of you and since I know how important pets are for emotional stability and even more so when she is migrating for the first time, I said yes.
That's how Catalina arrived, a one month old female that my sister got for adoption.
Days before Catalina arrived we prepared her enclosure, which is the name for the place where she will live. We handmade little mattresses, set up the space with grids, and even made a kind of little tent for her to sleep in.

De esa manera llegó Catalina, una cuya de un mes de nacida que mi hermana consiguió en adopción.
Días antes de que llegara Catalina preparamos su recinto que es el nombre para el lugar donde ella va a habitar. Hicimos a mano colchoncitos, armamos el espacio con rejillas, y cocimos hasta una especie de carpita para que duerma.
I must admit that I was thrilled to build this space for a pet, the first pet in my home.
We bought hay and feed, which are the most important foods for this type of animal to eat.
They can eat some vegetables, however, it is important that we give them hay to clean their teeth and feed, which is a food with vitamins that also helps to keep their urine and poop from smelling bad.
