Devcon Recap en Caracas con Criptocuriosas 💜

¡Hola a todos! Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un pequeño resumen de lo que hice en Caracas el pasado viernes 6 de diciembre. Ya saben cuanto me encanta organizar evento y estar en toda la parte de logística, así que cuando nos propusieron hacer este evento, nos pusimos de acuerdo y empezamos a organizar. Pero primero, déjenme explicarles qué es la Devcon.

Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you a little summary of what I did in Caracas last Friday, December 6th. You know how much I love organizing events and being in all the logistics, so when we were proposed to do this event, we agreed and started organizing. But first, let me explain what Devcon is.

Devcon es una convención donde se reúnen los constructores de todo Web3 para participar en diversas áreas: desarrollo, marketing, blockchain, creativos, entre otras. Está centrada completamente en Ethereum, lo cual es muy importante destacar. Este año fue la Devcon Sea, organizada en Bangkok, Tailandia, durante el mes de noviembre. En este evento hubo momentos especiales, muchas ponencias y varias oportunidades para aprender. Todo fue grabado y algunas de estas grabaciones se compartirán posteriormente en eventos satélite alrededor del mundo.

Uno de estos eventos satélite fue el que organizamos @arlette.tech, @jessiway y yo, con el apoyo de Criptocuriosas. Tuvimos muchas ideas, pero la que más resonó fue hacerlo en Caracas, Venezuela. Así que, después de organizar todo, buscar alojamiento y demás logísticas, estaba todo listo para nuestro gran viaje.

Devcon is a convention where builders from all over Web3 gather to participate in various areas: development, marketing, blockchain, creative, among others. It is focused entirely on Ethereum, which is very important to note. This year it was Devcon Sea, organized in Bangkok, Thailand, during the month of November. At this event there were special moments, many keynotes and several opportunities to learn. Everything was recorded and some of these recordings will later be shared at satellite events around the world.

One of these satellite events was the one organized by @arlette.tech, @jessiway and me, with the support of Criptocuriosas. We had many ideas, but the one that resonated the most was to do it in Caracas, Venezuela. So, after organizing everything, looking for accommodation and other logistics, everything was ready for our big trip.

El evento se vendió muy rápidamente. Quedamos gratamente sorprendidas por esto. El lugar fue @bitcoincafevzla, un espacio con ambiente cripto y todas las comodidades para realizar una actividad de este tipo.

The event sold out very quickly. We were pleasantly surprised by this. The venue was @bitcoincafevzla, a space with crypto atmosphere and all the amenities to hold such an activity.

Llegamos temprano para arreglar el local, pusimos todo en su lugar, organizamos sillas, stickers y la presentación. Los invitados y los speakers llegaron poco a poco, y a las 6 pm comenzamos los eventos. Arlette fue la anfitriona de todo el evento y dio la bienvenida junto a todo el equipo de Criptocuriosas.

We arrived early to set up the venue, put everything in place, organized chairs, stickers and the presentation. The guests and speakers arrived little by little, and at 6 pm we started the events. Arlette was the hostess of the whole event and welcomed the whole team of Criptocuriosas.

Empezamos con el primer panel Construyendo comunidades resilientes en Ethereum, junto a Yisbel Pérez, Say Sarmiento y esta servidora, en el cual conversamos sobre nuestra visión de las comunidades en Web3 y de algunas estrategias de divulgación, inclusión y experiencias en el fortalecimiento de comunidades.

We started with the first panel Building Resilient Communities on Ethereum, with Yisbel Perez, Say Sarmiento and myself, in which we talked about our vision of communities in Web3 and some strategies for outreach, inclusion and experiences in strengthening communities.

El segundo panel tuvo como título Soluciones técnicas para un Ethereum escalable. Estuvo conformado por Mafer López y Alef Cripto, quienes hablaron de los retos actuales de la escalabilidad, implementaciones prácticas y próximos avances.

Me encantó que, aunque el evento era de Ethereum, siempre se destaca la tecnología y la comunidad de Hive en estos eventos (y no fuimos nosotras 😏). Tener estas dos cosas como puntos a favor de nuestro ecosistema es maravilloso.

The second panel was entitled Technical Solutions for Scalable Ethereum. It consisted of Mafer Lopez and Alef Cripto, who talked about current scalability challenges, practical implementations and upcoming developments.

I loved that even though the event was Ethereum, it always highlights Hive's technology and community at these events (and it wasn't us 😏). Having these two things as plus points for our ecosystem is wonderful.

Para finalizar el evento, hicimos un sorteo cortesía de @metamerch, que fue bastante divertido. Los premios fueron una taza y un bucket hat muy divertido. Los ganadores se fueron felices con su merch.

To end the event, we had a raffle courtesy of @metamerch, which was quite fun. The prizes were a mug and a fun bucket hat. The winners left happy with their merch.

Siempre es fantástico organizar y participar en eventos donde podamos conectar con personas del medio, así como ampliar nuestra red de contactos e involucrarlos en lo que hacemos y compartimos dentro del ámbito de Web3. Aunque en años anteriores he realizado más eventos presenciales, estos, aunque fueron pocos, fueron de gran valor por su contenido y por lo que hemos aprendido en el camino. Estoy feliz de seguir realizando este tipo de eventos, y estoy segura de que vendrán muchos más.

Gracias a Criptocuriosas por la oportunidad, y gracias a todo este grupo de mujeres increíblemente talentosas que nos acompañan. Espero que el próximo año dupliquemos los eventos y tripliquemos los éxitos.

It is always great to organize and participate in events where we can connect with people in the field, as well as expand our network of contacts and involve them in what we do and share within the scope of Web3. Although in previous years I have done more face-to-face events, these, although few in number, were of great value for their content and what we learned along the way. I am happy to continue doing this kind of events, and I am sure that many more will come.

Thanks to Criptocuriosas for the opportunity, and thanks to all this group of incredibly talented women who accompany us. I hope that next year we will double the events and triple the successes.
