Yes, fracking is known to cause small tremors. I grew up in a seismic zone (Romania) and can tell you that you can have serious earthquakes (not just small tremors) AND no gas, no benefit, nothing tonshow for it. There's no free lunch, you can't have your cake and eat it too. It's all a matter of trade offs. The US has chosen to frack the hell out of it and put up with whatever earthquakes and other damage there was. Ten or more years after they started large scale fracking they are richer and strategically autonomous - they do not have to import gas from Russia, quite the contrary, they benefit by exporting liquefied gas to Europe.
