Splinterlands has a wide variety of cards and strategies to choose from in battles, but there are certain cards that are pretty much the best option for almost every battle and Djinn Oshannus is one of them.
For those who have been playing Splinterlands for a while, then you should already know this powerful card and how it can be your trump card in battles. But what makes the Djinn Oshannus so special?
First I'd like to say that I'm not saying that he will be your best option in battles, as I said before, Splinterlands has a wide variety of cards. The Djinn Oshannus in turn has a wide variety of utilities that make him useful in many ways in battle. these aspects are in your attack, speed, health and ability, but for you to understand better I will explain in a more "complex" way.
Stats and Abilities
First let's start with your basic stats, they are attack, speed and health. For you to have a better view of what I'm talking about, I'll leave an image below showing them.
The image above gives you an overview of the card and how it would function in battles. You can find these statistics by going to the marketplace, filtering the cards by Edition - Reward, Rarity - Legendary, Element - Water. After that just select the Djinn Oshannus card and go to Stats.
Having this image as a reference you can see that Djinn Oshannus stands out in all basic stats as they are all very strong. On the other hand you can also see that his mana cost is high, so the mana price to have him in battles is not cheap but that doesn't mean you shouldn't use him in low mana battles because even in those battles where you could select few cards besides Djinn Oshannus would still be a good choice.
Okay, now you know the basic stats of Djinn Oshannus and you must already find him very impressive, but it's not over yet because in addition to them he still has 3 abilities that will help you a lot in battles and make this card even more powerful.
Djinn Oshannus abilities are Void, Phase and Forcefield. These abilities are not available at any level and to use all of them you would need to have a Djinn Oshannus level 3 in battle, that means you are only able to use him at this level from the gold league.
Enable Void (Level 1)
The Void ability is unlocked from level 1 on Djinn Oshannus and its usefulness is to reduce damage dealt to him by magic attacks, this means that if a card with magic attack attacks Djinn Oshannus he will receive the reduced damage. The damage dealt is 50% of the total damage and the value is rounded up, so if a card has 3 magic attack and attacks Djinn Oshannus he will only receive 2 damage (the value is rounded because it is not possible to receive 1.5 damage), if magic attack is 1 then Djinn Oshannus will not take damage.
Enable Phase (Level 2 )
The Phase ability is unlocked at level 2 and its usefulness is to make Djinn Oshannus able to dodge magic attacks. Magic attacks have 2 advantages, the first is being able to ignore the cards' shield and directly attack their life, the second is that it is not possible to miss the attack. Both advantages have their weaknesses, in the case of the shield it is the Void Armor ability and in the case of missing the attack it is the Phase ability, this means that Djinn Oshannus will be a difficult opponent against cards with magic attack, since in addition to having the damage received reduced, he will also be able to dodge attacks.
Enable Forcefield (Level 3)
The Forcefield ability is unlocked at level 3 and its usefulness is to make Djinn Oshannus only take 1 damage when attacked by cards that have 5 or more attack. This ability is very useful especially in high leagues and high mana battles because cards with that amount of attack are common in battles and for most cards an opponent with a lot of attack is a disadvantage but for Djinn Oshannus not.
A card that impresses both in its base stats and in its abilities. In my opinion having the Djinn Oshannus is almost always a good choice, but let's see what his disadvantages are.
Advantages and disadvantages
Advantages
As I explained earlier in the post, Djinn Oshannus has several advantages, which are: great base stats (attack, speed and health) and great abilities (Void, Phase and Forcefield), which means that he is a very difficult card to play. be defeated in battles, especially against magic attack cards because they have great difficulties to face the Djinn Oshannus and believe me when I say that this card deflects many attacks, so in addition to being a good magical fortress it is also a difficult target to hit .
Disadvantages
Despite being a great choice, it also has its disadvantages. the first disadvantage en is his mana cost which is high so in low mana battles he is still useful but also limits you to choose few cards if you have him in battle and there are several strategies where he can be defeated with some ease. It's usually harder to win with him in low mana battles in high leagues, in low leagues like bronze and silver he has it easier, especially if you use a summoner like Alric Stormbringer. The second disadvantage would be in the Reverse Speed rule, in this rule the card with the lowest speed attacks first so the Djinn Oshannus that has a speed would be one of the last cards to attack and he also wouldn't be very useful dodging attacks because it's like his speed is low in a regular battle, this would also make the Phase ability not very useful.
Current Price
With the explanations above you may have already noticed how the Djinn Oshannus is useful in battles, but what about having him in them?
To own the Djinn Oshannus in battles you need to have him in your collection and for that you need to buy or rent him on the Marketplace, you can also get him for free if you are lucky in the reward chests.
Its price on the marketplace is currently $2.63 and you can buy it using DEC or credits. Its price is not very high for a legendary and useful card like it and since level 1 it is already a very powerful card to have, besides the demand for it is usually very high so you will have no difficulty selling it if you don't like.
You can also use a graphical tool in Peakmonster that shows the number of cards sold daily, weekly and monthly, in addition to their average price.
In the last 7 days 1036 Djinn Oshannus cards were sold and that is a high amount for a legendary card and its average price was $2.18 so the current price is not too expensive but still a above the average price. This tool is just a suggestion and this post is not an investment tip.
That was my post about the Djinn Oshannus card, if you want you can also look and participate in my daily giveaway that can be found on my blog. Bye!
