My $300 Deck is Bronze Level
Why does anyone care about a bronze-level player's point of view (pov)?
I have no issues telling people that I'm a bronze-level player. I'm a gamer and want to tell my story from my experience. This experience might be more common since most players are NOT whales!! While I enjoy watching others play in CHAMP leagues, that is not where 80% of the accounts are. I believe the sweet spot is between Gold and Diamond League.
I'm more successful in other areas of my life, like in the stock market and options trading. I post about my trading at the time I make the trade. For example, here is my Option trade for April25Trade. I'm still new in the SPLINTERLAND ecosystem and look forward to learning from others.

Where I'm at matters - Vouchers
As a bronze-level player, I don't earn "free" vouchers (or enough). In the year I have been playing, I earned about 4 total vouches and used one on regular foil VRUZ a few weeks ago. There isn't a way to earn enough "free" vouchers to consider this option.
Those with $2K+ worth of assets have a huge advantage. You can use "dividends" from your assets to create vouchers.
My goal is to stack more SPS to earn more vouchers. However, I cannot earn 160 vouchers for next year's PROMO, if we do a similar one next year.

Where I'm at matters - DEC
DEC is used for most transactions within SPL. Currently, the only way I'm earning DEC is by renting cards. I make 3 DEC a day.
The RENTAL markets only benefit WHALES with hundreds and thousands of cards to rent out. The other group that benefits from the RENTAL market is those that RENT the cards. Right now, RENTING makes more "cents" (pun intended) than OWNING the assets. The SPL team understands this, and that opportunity to RENT vs OWN will eventually shift.
I don't make enough DEC to get 40K DEC or 80K DEC. This means I need to use CASH to get "Zyriel", while other players can get the card for free because of their own assets. I don't have an issue with that. This is how the system should be designed.
Some players don't add new capital but sell/trade one asset to get another. These are the ones that can reap all the benefits of the game.

Is Zyriel worth the $40-80??
A single card worth 20% of my assets might not be the best way to use limited funds. This does not mean the card isn't good. Like so many other cards I wish I had, I will have to pass on Zyriel.
Running a single BCX of Zyriel in the Bronze and Silver leagues will not add much value. She will be a glass cannon-type card that might not survive the first round.
Bronze Player Focus
I am still working on collecting all the cards. I still have cards that I need to get and others to upgrade. I only started with a narrow focus on using 3 splinters and having access to the dragon splinter.
I believe there are some better values when it comes to deck building. These promos are common cards that still give a 10% RP bonus when you win a ranked battle. I think these two are better value:
- Arkemis the Bear (Promo)
- Vruz (Promo).
As a bronze-level player, you will notice that Gold Foil cards are costly! However, having a Bronze Gold Foil Deck allows me to play in Guild Brawls, especially in the Bronze Gold Foil FRAY.
Some cards, especially in the Bronze league, the cost between the GF and RF (multiple BCX) are very similar at the same level. I'm currently working on adding more Gold Foil cards to my deck. I will sell RF cards once I have enough to get the GF version. I did this with the CL rare Summoners. I used them for a year before I sold them and got the GF summoners.
As my deck evolves, I might need this new promo card.
For now, I will pass on Zyriel!!
