This post is created for this sponsored post to share an EPIC battle and talk about goals for 2025 in #Splinterlands Trading Card Game.
Before I start, I wanted to give where my account was based on my last POST in PEAKD from several months ago!
March 15, 2024
SPS: 5535
$382 value 61K CP in Tradeable Asset.
Dec 27, 2024
SPS: 10391 (mostly from Guild Brawl).
$203 value 63K CP in Tradeable Asset.
This will show how much I gain each season:
Those who read some of my older posts know that I'm a small account player with card assets in the Silver Level. I don't have a max Bronze or Silver deck and it is mostly just a bunch of "random" assets in my collection.
Not all players will have max-level cards and this is what an average player deck might look like.
To me, the best battles are when I win using low-level cards versus someone who has much higher-level cards. That is the #UNDERDOG story we all love in movies and books.
The post will be based on this battle
Battle Parameters:
Here is the match-up:
The lineups:
Summoner : L1 Llama Mage vs L8 Thaddius Brood (max)
Monster #1: L3 Venari Knifer vs L4 Ujurak Brave
Monster #2: n/a vs L3 Corpse Fiend
Monster #3: n/a vs L3 Halfling Refugee
Monster #4: n/a vs L4 Venator Kinjo (max)
Monster #5: n/a vs n/a
Monster #6: n/a vs n/a
Here you can see my deck is a Bronze/Silver level card that is not fully leveled up to Gold+ leagues. I using a common level card at level 3
The other player has a much higher value card with Max Summoner, GF Fiend at Level 3, and Max legendary Kinjo.
What I was betting on:
What ended up happening:
L3 Venari Knifer --> Hit L4 Ujurak Brave (removing shield).
L4 Ujurak Brave --> Hit me for 1 HP damage.
Thorns will return 2 damage.
In life, it is nice for the UNDERDOG to win. In Splinterland, the RULESET or the ASSETS may help you win over another player who might be stronger!
Other times, you might have played the perfect counter to the other player's cards without knowing what they are doing. That is a bit lucky or unlucky depending on what side you are on.
What I have learned is having MORE cards give you more choices.
Having a higher-level card can give you a better chance to win.
What makes this one special is that LLAMA is a card that I won from SPL-TV! I don't know if I would have purchased this card on the open market (it was over $100 when I won the card).
I was thinking of trying to figure out how to play in Survival mode. It will require me to maybe have one extra bcx of summoners so that I have enough cards to play in two leagues.
This will change the way I used to think about BURNING cards so I can get other new cards
Being a low-level player means that COST to buy one BCX of several CHAOS Legion Summoner is a manageable in cost. I don't need max/high-level summoners. I just need more of them.
What are your goals for the new year? Are you looking to improve your gameplay, expand your card collection, or connect with other players?
How do you plan to achieve your goals? Will you be focusing on specific card combinations, practicing new strategies, or participating in tournaments?
Splinterlands is a #play2earn NFT game that can be fun and profitable. All it takes is some time and a few assets to play. Your number of assets should grow over years of collecting cards and rewards from the chest. I think value will come from owning as many assets as possible.
