Greetings to the people of the DIY community, I had been absent a bit for health reasons: my health and that of the phone I use to connect my computer to the internet.
I worked for many years with ammonia systems to cool cellars, which, over the years, caused a certain deterioration, which time has kindly taken care of increasing. I've lost part of my sense of taste and smell, so when I have to make food, it ends up being overly seasoned or if I use hot sauce I end up in trouble. No matter how much I try, I don't feel the taste of spiciness, so from time to time I end up in a complicated situation with my health, because of the food.
My dear phone did not want to be less and as an act of solidarity he also got sick, the software failed, and he went completely crazy, in the end after two days of battle and a lot of help from my brother, we ended up managing to repair the fault.
I managed to survive an interesting week and we are here on the chopping block again:
I had promised them some time ago that I would make a report on the performance of the induction cooker that I had bought. That was in the middle of last year, I had to test it thoroughly and with my personal experience recommend if the expense was worth it.
These stoves have a cost that doubles the cost of a conventional electric stove, but believe when I tell you that it is very worth it and in the long run it is more economical to use this type of stove.
Important note, it is not recommended that if you use a pacemaker: do not approach or use this type of appliance. They have to avoid it and stay away from it.
Induction cookers use alternating magnetic fields to induce a movement of the atoms in the pot or pan and cook the food, it is very efficient. They only heat the cooking vessel. They do not work with the heat radiation of a resistance (which is the conventional method) where a part of the heat produced is lost.
It is an invention that has been around for some time, but like all things, the advancement of processes and technology has lowered costs enough to be able to make it available to most homes.
The electricity consumption is significantly lower, and it is safer, it only heats the cooking vessel.
In over a year of continuous constant use (it's the main kitchen), I've only had to clean the bottom fan grill so it doesn't get covered in dust (very different from the resistance cookers I had to resort to, since the gas supply service fell into decline).
The resistance cookers that I have had, used to last one or two months of continuous use before being damaged, and the spare parts for unusual, which may seem more expensive than buying a new cooker.
The temperature switch for a conventional resistor cooker cost the same as buying a new cooker, and the burner resistor for conventional electric cookers cost even more than a complete cooker.
But here comes the reason for the publication, these cookers only work with pots and containers that have ferrous content, so aluminum pots, copper pots and glass pots did not work with this cooker.
I was fortunate to have pots made of sealed pewter, which has a good ferrous alloy, and I had some Rena Ware pots, which turned out to be excellent for working on this type of cooktop.
With a magnet we test whether the kitchen is suitable for use.
I can't replace or dispose of the rest of the pots and pans, not at the moment. So I dedicated myself to doing what I always do: find a way to solve the problem.
In order to use conventional containers, I needed to be able to transmit heat, and these induction cookers have sensors, so if they don't have an appropriate container, you can't make them work.
It is also clear that when you remove the container that is on an induction cooker, they automatically turn off.
I needed a hob to cook with induction cookers, so I placed it as the false bottom of a container, so that the kitchen would make it heat up and be able to use the pot or pan. It is not very efficient, but while it is a solution that will allow me to work with what I have.
The induction hob had to be at least 3mm thick or more, and made of ferrous alloy. Fortunately, I found a piece of ladder that had been discarded and I decided to recycle it, it was a fluted sheet of iron 4 mm thick.
I had to cut it a bit to give it a more appropriate size, I haven't used the cutting equipment in a while, but you can work on the foil and make it more manageable.
Even so, I would not like it to fall on anyone's foot, the piece is small but heavy.
Finish the edges with a file to remove any sharp edges.
Despite how simple it is, it takes some work to make the cooktop, using the emery requires some effort and safety and protection measures. And if you do not have training in the use of a tool like this (it has a lot of force) it is better that you have the plate or profile you are working on cut, in a workshop, with plasma or some cutting equipment, it is not worth the effort. shame to have an accident An emery can do a lot of damage.
I tested how it worked using the small pan that is not made of iron alloy and I was able to use it with ease. There were no problems.
Well, thank you very much for stopping by and reading me, here I do not intend to make a tutorial with the publication, I only share part of my work in the workshop and how I am solving the problems that arise.
I strongly recommend: that you do not handle heavy tools, without proper training and safety equipment.
Have an excellent week:
Peace.

No hubo problemas.
Paz.
