Greetings to the Hive gaming community as always wishing you all in the best situation possible. And that they are enjoying a good game, especially these days when we have a good assortment of interesting options.
A few days ago, my friend @lionsaturbix brought us an interesting review about the game Genshin Impact, which caught my attention and since it seemed like a fun game, I sought to find out more about the opinions of other players.
I found very good references to Genshin Impact, but I also found many comments from players, who said: that all the suggestions for improvements that were made about the game were applied in the end in another more recent game from the same company that created Genshin Impact. .
The game in question, which did receive all the improvements that were asked to be made to Genshin Impact, is the subject of this review: Honkai Star Rail.
What I liked and surprised me the most was the community of this game: they are really great, I only had a short time playing, I was level 16 and a guy sent me a friendship invitation and then lent me a level 80 character to play calm down some missions. In this game, advanced players lend you characters to use in missions where it is allowed.
I haven't found another community like this since I was in Warframe, since if you ask for help via chat in Warframe, then you have to stop the barrage of all the invitations you receive to help you from players who don't even know you.
Honkai Star Rail is a game developed and produced by the company HoYoverse, it is a free, multiplayer, turn-based combat and adventure RPG game. It can be played on Android, iOS and PC. Soon, it will also be available on the playstore. The game was released in April 2023.
Despite having some reference to one of the company's previous games, specifically: Honkai Impact 3rd and sharing one or another character from a previous game, Honkai Star Rail is a different story in itself.
The gacha system is also applied in this game, but you don't need to spend money if you are going to use it, you can play all the content of the game without spending real money, unless you really want to pay for something.
As for the game world, although there are areas to explore, the game is a bit more about following missions and exploring within the missions, it is not an open world.
I had not played a game from this company before, nor did I know the gacha system, so I will only comment on my experience based on what has happened to me during the time I have played.
I had a lot of fun, from the beginning of the game we already have good action, of course at the beginning we are a bit lost. But the game takes us in some way until we get an idea of what to do and how to do it.
We enter the game and arrive at a space station that is under attack, when we arrive we destroy everything in our path until we find our support NPC, and together we recover a very powerful relic that was hidden in the station, the relic was the reason by which the station was being invaded.
Then, before escaping the station, we can't think of anything better than hiding the all-powerful and super-expensive relic in the body of some random guy who was passed out in a part of the station, a great plan, right? From there, the subject we choose will be awakened by two NPCs and will be our character in the game.
Regarding the combat system, they have opted for turn-based combat, it is something that differentiates it the most from previous games.
The turn-based combat is very well done in my opinion, although it took me a little while to understand it.
We have a normal attack (letter q on keyboard), a special ability (letter e).
Normal attack will give energy, special attack consumes energy points.
A powerful super ability, which charges every time we attack and every time we are hit (it is the large sphere that fills during combat, and when it fills we can activate it with the mouse), and does not consume energy, after choosing the attack What will we do and the enemy, we execute the attack with the space bar.
The interface simulates a mobile phone screen, it even has the option to take photographs of the settings and ourselves.
There is an absurd amount of things to do in-game and out-of-game, something I really enjoy, and they give us bonus Star Jades for even sneezing.
Star Jades are the currency with which we buy tickets to use the gacha system, where we obtain: the characters.
The mods or as they are called here “the cones of light”, which are applied to different types of characters.
Tips:
If you have a recommendation for the gacha system: until you know the game well, only spend tickets on the promotional character banner and the beginner one (the latter only lasts 50 spins). It is best not to spend tickets on the weapons and artifacts banner until you pass level 20 of path tracer.
Also don't use the permanent banner until you use up the other options completely and are more aware of how the game works.
The artifacts in the game are something that you should not worry about until after level 24 or 30, try to raise your DPS and your tank as best you can and check which mod is best for each one and when you have a good mod, raise it as much as possible. that they can.
When you start the free account, they will give you a DPS, a tank, separate from your character, which is a kind of DPS.
Your character traces paths in a stage of the game, he will stop being a DPS and will become a good tank, so level him up when he is a DPS, but do not spend on his DPS perks, since they are all nullified when change class and they will lose the resources, but the level at which they have it is preserved.
As for the design of the scenarios and maps, I agree, something curious is that in the game you will notice an abundant sense of humor distributed in comments, NPCs and objects (yes, objects can troll you)
If you play for free, like me, I don't think you'll encounter many problems, but of course paying users, as always, will have more benefits.
It is a game in which it is better to complete the main missions and leave the secondary ones for when they ask you to level up first. In some scenarios you can find enemies of a much higher level, so evaluate carefully if you want to have a hard time or run away.
The material about the game is very extensive, I have gone a little overboard in the length of the review. But I can't cover everything in just one post, so I have condensed as much as I consider important, to the best of my ability. Most likely I will make a second part explaining a little more detailed parts of the game.
Thank you very much for stopping by and reading me.
Have an excellent week.
Peace.
I have used Google translator for the English language.

Paz.
