X3: Terran Conflict gameplay 01-02

This open world space combat game has had quite the legacy, I have been playing it for over 10 years now, on the same save game file. It takes a very long time to build up in this game, the grind is real. Its been fun playing it, but seems the menus need updating. If I try to play this on 4k it makes the text very small. All and all though its fun going back to playing this game once in awhile.

There is a new version of this game that came out a few years back, I gave it a try but just came back to playing X3:TC

I am defending a space station from some pirates. And just wait around for them to enter the system. There is a near by military spacecraft, a really big one. So I will try to use it to help me defend this pirate spaceship and the fleet that are following it.

Before I can catch the attention of the large military craft it engages some other space pirates in medium and heavy fighters. It makes quick work of them killing them all, space is rough.

I sit back and watch the destruction take place, such a massive ship is an unstoppable force unless met with an opposing force of the same size. This day in this sector there was no such equalizer.

The military craft flies around me, as an ally it wont attack me unless I fire upon it. I have to be careful in space battles as friendly fire is quite easy.

Looks like we got each others attention, now they face off as I stay back a considerable distance.

The battle against the main ship was over in about 30 seconds and then another 30 seconds to take out the pirate escorts.

Many items are scattered around the battle zone, so after they finish fighting I will come in and collect what I can. Missiles, weapons, ammo and sometimes ejected pilots that got out before their craft exploded.

Seeing the destruction caused by the military craft was impressive. I do not think I could have easily taken out that ship. Maybe with a bunch of missiles but not just my main guns like it did.

The military ship cleans up and takes some fire from the escort fighters but not enough to be any danger.

I enter the battle zone and help clean up the enemy fighters, the force mostly taken out now.

Collecting dropped items is easy, find them on the map and then fly towards it.

My escort ships finally make it in system. I try to go far ahead of them so they do not run into trouble. Though sometimes trouble comes creeping up behind as some of the ships like the cargo vessels are quite slow.

Keeping an eye on the map to make sure no fighters close in and start attacking my ships. Most of them are heavily armed but those heavy fighters have some powerful guns that just shredding through shields.

I enter a new system and take out the pirate vessels around, they can harass my ships and cause problems for my small fleet.

Docking at the space station I wait for my escort ships to arrive. I can trade gear with them when they dock at the same station as me.

I look at what they have for sale, some nice guns from the looks of it. I need to check to see if they will fit my ship though.

Missions are available on many stations, I prefer the defending the station ones. The others are just a pain in the ass mostly.

After trading items with my other ships we head off to the next sector. If I can fix the text I hope to keep building up my fleet, and spend hundreds of more hours in this game until it just wont play anymore. Its quite fun for a long haul game, highly suggested if you like space combat sims.
