I've seen alot of these kind of bugs but usually alot smaller. It would seem like with ants there are smaller and larger versions of each other. I'm used to the Stink bug types that are about twice the size of a lady bug. But this bug is about four times the size of the Stink bugs I'm used to seeing.
It also had an interesting spiked pattern on it's back, I do not remember seeing that on the Stink bugs.
It was completley still, maybe aware I was standing over it. Even as I moved the camera closer it did not flinch.
It almost looks like its wing tips are burned or damaged. But I looked up pictures of Wheel bugs and they seem to all have that appearance.
I eventually went on to do something else and when I returned it was gone. Must have fled while I was away. Good cause I was bear foot and dont want to step on it.
