Trying out building a new city, sometimes the ones I made are just not working out for me. So in this case we start a new one, the biggest thing is making sure the power plants are near the main road. Otherwise they will run out of fuel and stop working if not close to the entry of the city. I had no idea about this the first few play throughs, and slowly my city would run out of power and cause big issues.
I have learned from building many cities now, that you must place certain buildings where they need to be.
The zoning all around the power plant will be commercial and industrial. You want to keep the residential as far from the pollution as possible.
I went so far as placing the homes across the river.
Adding schools, parks and other neighborhood friendly buildings will boost their happiness.
Eventually I grow into a tiny town and get a small cash bonus.
Adding more streets I am ready to build out, I add a special kind of agriculture area that does not produce as much pollution. Or at least thats my hope
I also add fishing boats along the river, adding the waypoints was really hard in this tight space.
Got myself a natural event, a meteor came crashing down and hit an unpopulated area. whew!
Since then I added an emergency response building.
The city is starting to get pretty busy, hoping that round about is up to the task.
