I refer to the accentuation, that is, the way to write correctly a word based on the strength of voice that we place in the syllables when we enunciate the word in question, because, definitely, it is not the same to refer to a "fábica", synonym of industry, that indicate that this or that person, for example, manufactures, or elaborates, a tool or product.
All the words, taken separately, have a prosodic accent, or accent of intentionality. That they have tilde, or graphic accent, will depend on if they are acute, serious, esdrújulas or sobresdrújulas. In this post we will not dedicate, very subtly, to know the rules of accentuation of the words esdrújulas and grave, leaving for future publications the relative to the acute and the sobresdrújulas.
Fábrica: word Esdrújula, that is to say, those words where the greater force of voice in the antepenultimate syllable of the word is realized, in the case of our example in Fá. See that when we say the word factory it is there, on the third to last syllable (in fa), where the greatest force of voice falls. All the words esdrújulas take the accent orthographic (the tilde).
Examples of words esdrújulas: Sábana , química, física, matemá tica, pirá mide, esdrújula.
Fabrica: word Serious, that is to say, those words where the greater force of voice in the penultimate syllable of the word is realized, for the case of our example in bri. You see that when we refer to factory, the term used to indicate that someone makes or elaborates an object or work, our greatest force of voice falls on the penultimate syllable in question bri. Serious words only are given the tilde (orthographic accent) when they do not end in s, n, or vowel.
Examples of serious words: Héctor, lápiz, carro, sabana (note the difference with sábana), casa, cráter.
Note, in the previous examples, that some of the words were not placed the tilde according to the rules of acentaución of the words serious, that is to say, did not put a tilde to the words that ended in vowel, in n, or in s.
