My weekends are always beautiful even though they are busy. This weekend was no exception. The hubs and I started the day with coffee, just the way I like it frothy, creamy, strong, smelling like heaven in a cup and steaming hot. This was just perfect!
We decided to take advantage of the parks nearby being open now and went for a walk. It was still quite early in the morning around 6.30ish when we reached the park.
The sun was up lighting up the leaves and flowers. Birds were all over the park, we could hear them so loud, especially the parrots, but the light wasn't good enough to be able to spot them.
The golden trumpet tree (tabebuia aurea) at the end of the walk way was still in bloom. A late bloomer perhaps. All the other tabebuia's were already displaying seedpods.
The grass looked extra special as it caught the early morning light. These spider plants looked so beautiful beside the walk way. There weren't too many walkers at that point so we had the park mostly to ourselves.
The lake looked pretty pensive . The Indian tulip tree commonly known as the portia tree or pacific rosewood (Scientific name Thespesia populnea) with its abundance of seedpods looked pretty against the water. This is one of the common trees you will find here in the residential areas. These trees are always in bloom and are medium sized and sturdy.
The eucalyptus were in bloom and the smell of these blooms in the morning breeze felt so soothing and wonderful. There were a couple of drongos hiding there but they were kind of shy and didn't want to be photographed.
My feet were hurting after we finished 7000 steps and hubs was very hungry, so we came back home and I made these savory crepes with semolina and yogurt with some coconut chutney for breakfast. After breakfast I decided to do some gardening.
What!! Is it November already?? my chrysanthemums are in a great hurry to bloom. These plants are filled with tiny buds, so I decided to pinch the buds off so they could focus on growing bushier and fuller around the actual blooming time. I also fertilized the plants with worm casting and seaweed extract.
My favourite adenium is back in bloom. This is also quite early as it has just finished blooming a month ago. The blooms don't usually come back until the rains are over. But who cares, I love these beauties and they are welcome any time of the year.
The clematis alba luxurians is in bloom. This one is on the first floor balcony. It smells amazing. I just fertilized the vine to keep it blooming for a couple of months. I know I will be spending my mornings here. I used to love drinking my coffee here until some people moved in just opposite us and the guy there is very curious about what happens in our home. Creep. I am growing a couple of other wines the bread flower and the curtain vine to block out his view. Hopefully it will take off soon and give me some much needed privacy.
The time spent with the hubs during the walk and in the garden was sublime. In a few months he will retire and this could be our regular routine I guess. I look forward to a more relaxed lifestyle. I like to let my hair down and smell the clematis, that is bliss for me.
