It's been a very long time since I participated in the #pobphotocontest. The moment I saw the reminder post from @friendlymoose I decided to write this blog, lest I forget. It Is kind of late in the day so I'll make this a short post.
Bird watching has been my hobby for a long time now. I used to climb walls and rooftops to get decent images, but that is a thing of the past. These days I am just happy to walk around and see some birds. These two images I share in this post were captured by me a sometime ago.
I like the mood in these pictures, it always makes me wonder what these birds think and feel. Are they anxious about the eagles flying high above them? Are they worried about their next meal? I guess not as they are sitting right next to the fruits (wild figs) which would be their meal. So are they worried about this woman who is pointing this long, black object in their direction and keenly watching them, observing their every movement while stealthily coming closer every second?
I wonder what is on their mind. Their body language is an enigma to me. Their eyes are on me as much as mine are on them. This spotted dove or wood pigeon as they are known looked quite chilled out sitting on that cable. He was enjoying his day until he saw me approaching him. He then became a little suspicious. Observe closely even though his body is turned one way his eyes were fixed on me. Is this peace disturbed? I would guess so, while there is a suspicion there also seems to be that defiance about him. Let's see what you can do? Catch me if you can! I guess that's the mood.
The second image I am sharing with you is that of a jungle mynah. The normal city mynahs have yellow patches on their faces, but this one here is different. He seems a little perturbed, he doesn't like people invading his privacy. He still won't show any signs of fear and fly away. He prefers to look the other way and pretend that I don't exist. Regardless, his eye are on me. He is ready to face danger that might come his way.
I guess, he is okay with me being around but he hates my gadget. He doesn't trust it as it follows his every movement. He knows he can't be captured physically, but he hates this digital invasion of his privacy. Perhaps he is like some of us who have privacy concerns when we go online.
Life is all about taking risk, calculated risks. He has weighed his pros and cons and he gets on with his lifeo. Life goes on no matter who is around. We need to live our live for ourselves rather than for the world. Fear doesn't help, anxiety and worry don't let us live our best life. So let's carry on as if we rule the world!
This is my world, don't you dare stray in here! I rule my world, you are off limits! You can take your chances if you want too, I am my own boss! This seems to be the mood of this Indian wild dog.
Have I got this enigma all sorted out? What do you think?
Thanks for your support, I appreciate your time.
